GARDEN GRANTS AVAILABLE

Image Gardens around the country are set to be given a makeover this year.

After enduring extremes in weather over the past few years Open Garden Australia is directing its grants program towards garden renewal.


“Applications are being sought for projects that will help return gardens recover from the impacts of natural disasters or which have endured other difficulties or hardships,” says Richard Barley CEO of Open Garden Australia.

Grants up to the value of $5000 are available to individuals, community groups or associations and non-profit organisations. “Sometimes garden owners are in need of a little extra help. We are very happy to be able to assist in this way,” he says.

Eligible gardens are those that have been publicly accessible through the Open Garden Australia program in previous years or which have otherwise been open to the public to enjoy or are likely to be open in the future from any state or territory in Australia.

Applications must be on the form available to download from the Open Gardens Australia website http://www.opengarden.org.au/givingprogram.html The closing date for grant applications is 4pm on 14 February 2012.
